Bringing Global Learning into the Classroom

Global learning is key at Appalachian. Here students leave North Carolina for study and cultural exchange in Barcelona, London and Paris. Shane Zimmerman ’13 discovers global thinking and learns how “our actions back home can affect the world.”

Shane Zimmerman ’13: The world is becoming so international now that we cannot only think of our small town as being,“That’s it.” We need to think more globally and about the way our actions back home can affect places around the world. It’s mind opening and to be able to take that back and share it with my peers, my teachers, being able to tie the classroom setting to real world situations is, in every way, amazing.
